I went to bTWEEN this month, a conference about collaboration and creativity in the digital arena. The unexpected highlight of the show was a huge interactive messageboard positioned behind speakers that displayed comments posted via text and email by members of the live audience and also those watching online. I think it was supposed to be polite and lively debate surrounding speaker topics, but it turned out to be a highly comedic vehicle for dramatic irony, with mostly cheeky comments provoking giggles in the audience whilst the speaker carried on obliviously. Co-attendee Jamie commented that this format could be used to great effect in a standup comedy show, which I agreed could be award-winningly ace.
